As Assistant Kitchen Manager, in conjunction with KM, you would oversee the operation of the kitchen in addition to assisting the KM with ordering, receiving, preparation, and presentation of food in a timely manner.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Essential Functions Statement(s)

    Supervises and participates in the production of food.

    In conjunction with all management, enforces compliance with all employment policies in area of responsibility.

    Monitors tickets and sets the pace during peak hours.

    Manages through “hands on” supervision of the restaurant. This includes but is not limited to non-scheduled assistance with serving, hosting, cooking, etc.

    Conducts formal line taste and temp checks.

    Ensures proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items.

    Tracks waste.

    Ensures cleanliness and proper maintenance of equipment.

    Ensures consistency in food and service to increase sales.

    Maintains budgeted food and kitchen labor costs.

    Maintains proper inventories.

    Understands and practices safe food handling procedures.

    Ensures staff is following established recipes and procedures.

    Creates a safe environment and assists in developing BOH staff members.

    Ensures that the cleanliness of the restaurant and safety of our guests are maintained at all times.

    Ensures culture and core values are adhered to; passion, partnership, integrity, and fun with purpose.

    Salaried AKM’s cannot be scheduled in hourly positions. Their job duties must be directly related to the management of operations.

    Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

    Experience: 2 years or more as an AKM or BOH key employee

    Computer Skills: Word, Excel

    Other Skills: List other special skills needed

    Good organizational skills

    An effective communicator

    The ability to problem solve and handle high stress situations
