Job Description
AIEDU’s Head of Sales leads the organization’s efforts to drive recurring revenue through wraparound services and products for our curriculum to K-12 school districts, extracurricular programs, and post-secondary institutions, especially community colleges. You will lead the Sales function, reporting directly to the CEO, and be responsible for cultivating and closing key relationships with our pipeline — in addition to helping to generate new leads and ensure we are maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities. This is a remote position, however we anticipate a significant amount of travel to attend conferences and events (pending the safe resumption of in-person travel).
THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD A SALES ORGANIZATION FROM THE GROUND UP.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Become fluent in AIEDU’s product and curriculum offering, and learn to convey the organization’s mission-driven focus on untapped communities and the Future of Work.
Manage the sales cycle from the cold-call to the close—underscored by relationship- and trust-building throughout; note: we anticipate working with a third party agency to facilitate cold-calls and expect this role to be focused primarily on the close.
Build and own the lead generation function
Initiate and cultivate relationships with academic decision makers
Develop a keen understanding of customer needs and convey those to our Product team
Deliver effective sales presentations and product demonstrations over Zoom, Google Meet, and phone calls—in addition to in-person meetings once they resume
Create and update sales collateral, conference activations, product marketing documents, and other content to be used in closing deals with customers
Identify key customer segments and refine targeting and prioritization of potential buyers based on research and feedback from meetings
Keep our CRM up-to-date to allow for real-time monitoring of sales activities and our current pipeline
Oversee AIEDU’s growth marketing function, occasionally writing blog posts and creating social media content, in addition to managing external vendors and freelancers to support the function.
Build and maintain timely and accurate reporting of sales forecasts, active accounts, and growth activities.
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced sales professional with 3-5 years of experience (or more) in direct sales roles in education contexts with a proven track record. You should have an interest in education, technology, and the Future of Work, and also be mission-driven. Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship building skills are a must. You should be able to tell a good story. You should itch to drive new leads and yearn for the close. Note: a specific background in artificial intelligence is not required for this role, but having familiarity with the technology and its impact on everyday Americans will help you tell our story.
