BAFTA New Talent & Membership Internship (Los Angeles) 5 September 2018 BAFTA is looking for a talented intern to join its busy Los Angeles office. Type: Part Time, Internship (Paid) Employment Dates: September-December Location: Los Angeles British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is a leading nonprofit organization promoting and rewarding excellence in film, games and television. Through awards, events and online resources, we drive standards ever higher, seek out and encourage new and emerging talent, and inspire practitioners while celebrating the very best creative work. As a 501c3 nonprofit, BAFTA Los Angeles extends the organizations remit into the US, including award-winning community outreach programs, screenings, seminars, scholarships, mentorship schemes, and archival projects. We are inviting dynamic individuals to apply for a paid internship position. The internship position integrates into our small but busy team in LA, and therefore provides opportunity to gain valuable insight and experience across a variety of the day-to-day activities of a non-profit arts organization. A focus of the Internship will include the delivery of the organizations New Talent programs and Membership. A passion for film and film education is therefore required. The appropriate candidate should demonstrate enthusiasm for helping emerging talents to achieve their goals in the industry. Key opportunities and experience gained will include: Providing administrative support to busy office teams. Coordination and execution of major events. Fielding and responding to enquires. Database entry and research. Professional interaction with vendors, partners, consultants and others. Staff and Committee operations of a non-profit organization. Communications including PR, Social Media, Website. Minute-taking and record keeping. Being onsite at events and screenings, including guest check-in. Requirements, preferred skills and background: Legal authorization to work in the United States. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. Understanding of Social Media platforms. Excellent writing and listening skills Strong organizational and time management skills Strong interpersonal and professional skills required to work effectively with a variety of people. Passion for the creative arts Desire to pursue a career in the entertainment industry Available select nights and weekends around events and key deadlines. Ability to collaborate effectively. Energetic, eager, and with a what-can-I-help-with-next attitude.
