    Our 70-year-old global Aerospace & Defense client has asked The Maven Group to locate a talented Green Propulsion Engineer in Niagara Falls, NY.  Niagara Falls is my clients  primary site for engine design and development work. This is the preferred site for this position. Consideration will be given to other location East Aurora NY, Golden CO, Mountain View CA, Chatsworth CA, Gilbert AZ or Huntsville AL. Travel to Niagara Falls will be required if the individual resides in one of these other sites.

    This position is a direct-hire, full-time role.     My clients Space Sector continues to see growth in their rocket engine and propulsion system business. Primary applications are monopropellant and bipropellant rocket engines and propulsion systems for strategic missile, LEO, GEO, and exploration missions with thrust ranges from 0.2 lbf to > 500 lbf. The company has been developing products and building technical depth in the area of green propulsion within these markets.

    The  chosen Propulsion Engineer will fill the subject matter expert-level role, operating as a member of the Niagara Falls Propulsion Engineering team. The selected engineer will have past experience working on space hardware, particularly rocket engines and propulsion systems compatible with green propellant (ex. ASCENT, LMP-103S, Hydrogen peroxide and other green or low-toxicity liquid mono- and bi-propellants).

    To be considered as the ideal candidate, you should possess:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering and 10+ years of design and/or project engineering experience with rocket engines, components, and/or propulsion systems compatible with green propellants. M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.

    Note: Candidates with less than 10 years’ experience with an advanced degree will be considered based on content of past design and development experience specific to green propellant rocket engines, components, and propulsion systems. Due to the nature of the technical need, lesser years of experience may be reviewed and considered.

    • A track record of success and demonstrated competency and direct experience with designing rocket engines and propulsion systems.
    • Experience designing, building, and testing propulsion systems with green propellants is desired, as is experience with the impact of typical green propellants on design requirements for components such as valves, regulators, propellant tanks, and other hardware.
    • This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
    • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance due to the type of work completed by the company's Space Sector.
