HERE'S MORE ABOUT THE JOB
The Business Financial Analyst works in collaboration with operations and corporate finance groups to collect, analyze and report operational data for periodic and project-based financial and operational analysis, and supports budgeting and forecasting processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the financial administration team by collecting, validating, tracking, reviewing, and entry of financial information related to business unit operations, accounts payables, and fleet and equipment utilization.
Provide security controlled, real-time availability, accuracy and transparency of materials related to component rates, costs, and throughput rate setting criteria.
Analyze variances to budget and forecast.
Prepare monthly expense accruals, acting as liaison between accounting personnel and financial administration team to ensure all monthly expenses are accounted for.
Analyze actual costs against budget and forecast to understand the impact that any variances may have on operations and determine whether costs have been recorded accurately.
Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all assigned tasks and related financial reporting and analysis.
Ensure the accurate and timely review, coding, and submission of vendor invoices to Accounts Payable as needed.
Assist in the monthly and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets and reporting of the key performance indicators for the business unit.
Assist Finance and Operations management teams in preparation of periodic project forecasts, analysis, and modeling.
Track, monitor, and report planned budgets and forecasts versus actual spend.
Provide variance explanations and propose possible improvement plan actions.
Provide governance and develop metrics to ensure financial processes are followed correctly.
Research payable transaction issues and assist in implementing improvements.
Track internal and external invoicing and reconciliation.
Prepare month end accruals for operations-related activities.
Establish and maintain process controls ensuring divisional consistency and adherence to established enterprise policy and procedures for operational metrics and data reporting.
Develop data driven analysis and studies of operational and financial issues and opportunities.
Maintain appropriate documents and files as support for all transactions, reports, and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS :Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in directly-related field required
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ years as a financial analyst or in a similar role involving tracking down the right data and figures, and digging into large amounts of data to identify complex financial problems.
