    Job Description

    Reporting to the Director for Development & Partnerships and working closely with the Director of Education and Outreach, the Marketing Coordinator works on all marketing and social media initiatives of the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation (HTTF), a nonprofit organization.

     

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in marketing initiatives of the Historic Tennessee Theatre. This person will be the traffic coordinator for all projects including season-specific marketing of the Broadway Series, Mighty Musical Monday, Open Houses and other community projects and contract work. The ideal candidate has existing educational background in general marketing, graphic design skills and digital media experience. Knowledge of the Knoxville arts and culture scene, including suburbs and surrounding communities are also highly valuable skills. Candidate should have basic graphics skills and working familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily InDesign, and Photoshop. Candidate will also be detail oriented, a self-starter, social media savvy, a creative thinker, a team player, and a strong communicator. Retail marketing experience is a plus. While most of the job responsibilities will be done remotely, on-site work will be required but varies according to event schedule.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and execute communications and messaging for the organization’s nonprofit mission and related activities, including developing comprehensive marketing plans, media buying, copywriting, maintaining/updating web site, conceiving and managing production of printed collateral, and utilizing email marketing and social media. Identify new ways to increase the visibility and reach of the organization.
    • Develop and implement digital communications strategy.
    • Collaborate with external booking partner handling tour (concert/Broadway) marketing to ensure proper scheduling/integration of all communications, and provide relevant collateral for newsletters, social media, and more.
    • Collaborate with external public relations partner to promote theater activities and initiatives in the media. Help coordinate direct requests for media appearances/interviews.
    • Collaborate on special events of the HTTF, such as the annual fundraising gala, patron events, free open houses and/or tours, Mighty Musical Monday, and other community-minded events. This position is expected to participate fully in these events, which can occur on weeknights or weekends.
    • Collaborate on strategies for merchandising of gift shop items, including purchasing, pricing, and marketing. Oversee merchandise sales both at events and online. Includes setting up Theatre merchandise table and facilitating sales.
    • Assist in the creation of effective and efficient show-marketing plans and participate in communications with client and liaisons, as appropriate.
    • Participates to insure institutional and non-profit mission marketing objectives are met and integrated via shows, partners, residents, and activities.
    • Provides support for concert/show, theatre services, sales, development, educational, and/or institutional activities and projects as needed.
    • Works on special projects, initiatives, promotions, and other programs as needed.
    • Manage marquee marketing process, including scheduling tour messaging, handling paid requests, and working with graphic designer for marquee graphics.
    • Assists in the collaboration and work provided by outside vendors, media outlets and marketing alliances.

     

    COMPENSATION

    Salary commensurate with experience and includes a competitive benefits and PTO package.
