Be a part of an innovative team and culture…The Publicity intern will be an integral part of the Searchlight team throughout a film’s promotionsand release providing on the ground support at a multitude of events including special screenings,premieres and junkets as needed. We are a small team, so the intern will be especially helpful in handling special projects and administrative duties (phones, organizing PR files, and meeting prep). The hands-onrole will offer exposure to the film industry and awards campaign from a unique perspective in theNew York office. We want to provide interns with an enriching experience that gains them anunderstanding of the role of publicity in a film campaign, as well as help them develop excellentadministrative skills and a background in event coordination. We are a very welcoming team andwant the intern to be a part of the Searchlight family!Responsibilities : Collecting and distributing daily press breaks (newspaper/magazine clippings/online mentions)Managing department charts and documentsAssisting publicists with research projectsSetting up zoom meetings and facilitating recordings, delivery of publicity materials, organizing PR filesPrepping materials and participating in weekly meetingsWorking at screenings, premieres, junkets and press daysBasic Qualifications : Proficient with the Microsoft Office suiteAbility to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Can work independentlyDesire to gain PR experience to further their career.Knowledge and interest in Searchlight Pictures is a plus!Preferred Qualifications: Prior internship experience in film, publicity, marketing, or other related fields preferred.Relevant coursework in PR and/or communicationsRequired Education : At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional InternshipAdditional Information : Candidates must:Possess unrestricted work authorizationBe at least 18 years oldBe able to provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.Be available from May/June through August 2022
