    Job Summary

    We are seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at our busy and well established privately owned veterinary hospital in Corona, Ca.. Veterinary assistant responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. Our hospital is a mixed practice which makes us a great place for someone that not only wants to work with dogs and cats but also has the opportunity to work with large animals, pocket pets and exotics. The only pets we do not see here are birds. As an experienced technician, you are the key to our client/patient centered practice. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we’d like to meet you.

    The team here loves organization, having smooth flow and clear communication. We also always make time to have some fun and keep a positive energy. We are closed on the weekend to ensure that there is a great family/job balance. That is very important to us. Weekly meetings are also very important to us to ensure that every team member participates and has their voice heard.

    Responsibilities

    Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

    Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history

    Take vital signs and acquire blood samples

    Place catheters

    Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery

    Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients

    Keep accurate patient records

    Administer Vaccines

    Perform treatments on patients

    Animal restraint

    Qualifications

    Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role

    Knowledge of animal care and handling

    Excellent communication skills

    Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

    Patience and a love for animals
