    Job Description

    Timmons Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Marketing Proposal Coordinator to join our Marketing Group located in our Richmond, VA office location.     This position is ideal for the marketer who likes to stay engaged, be creative, and have their ideas heard and implemented. The selected candidate will be an excellent writer with an eye for detail, providing marketing support to our engineering divisions primarily through proposal development, writing, editing, and light graphic design support. This role, and our marketing team, supports the firm by creating forward-thinking, client-focused pursuit materials for building long-term client relationships and growing revenues.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Working with marketing team and technical staff to support the firm’s pursuits for a variety of assigned service lines.
    • Leading/coordinating strategic responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), letters of interest, and questionnaires for proposals across Virginia, with occasional support for other locations.
    • Leading pursuit teams by identifying leads; facilitating go/no-go conversations; running proposal kick-off and review meetings; managing proposal schedule/deadlines; and planning writing, editing, proofreading, and print/digital production of pursuit materials, including developing simple graphics and working with technical staff to write new material.
    • Leading and managing development of new content (such as project summaries, executive summaries, past performance, management approaches, resumes, etc.), both from within marketing and coordinating with technical team members.
    • Coordinating strategy and leading production of presentation and interview materials with the technical teams.
    • Conducting internal and external research to identify leads for new project opportunities and clients, track data, and follow up with marketing team and appropriate technical staff.
    • Facilitating debrief meetings and client feedback opportunities.
    • Coordinating and facilitating relevant marketing activities such as conference attendance, teaming events, support for business development, and marketing events.
    • Maintaining, monitoring, and updating information in the corporate CRM system, Deltek Vantagepoint.
    • Filing electronic records, managing pursuit database content.
    • Preparing design award submittal and speaker presentations.
    • Managing regular marketing meetings with technical staff.
    • Coordinating with the Communications team to produce social media and web content, print or digital collateral, etc.

    Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related discipline
    • 2-5 years of experience preparing proposals or in technical writing for an engineering, architecture, or construction firm
    • Experience coordinating, organizing, and completing multiple concurrent tasks
    • Demonstrated proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or Creative Cloud) - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro
    • Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint or similar CRM software a plus
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
    • Extra consideration will be given to qualified candidates with experience developing and writing public infrastructure or land development proposals for federal, state, and/or local owners
    • A self-starter who can work as a project leader in a fast-paced environment
    • Highly organized in time and task management
    • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and priorities with moderate supervision
    • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent proofreading and editing skills
    • Motivation to both learn about new topics and present new ideas
    • Exceptional interpersonal and listening skills and ability to work collaboratively and understand multiple perspectives
    • Participation in on-the-job training and interest in joining industry organizations
