    The Fairmont is looking for a proven master mixologist, who is passionate about the art of hand crafted cocktails to give our guests the full San Francisco experience!

    Come be a part of one of the most historical and sought out bars in San Francisco! Tonga Room has been recognized as one of the nation's hottest bars by InStyle, Gourmet, Travel & Leisure, Harper's Bazaar and Wallpaper magazines and has been recently featured on ABC, Travel Channel & Food Network Located at The Fairmont San Francisco, Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar has delighted guests with its tropical decor, decadent libations and Asian cuisine since 1945. Having reigned as a swanky outpost of South Seas high style for much of its storied history, Tonga Room more recently gained a following as an icon of tiki's pop culture heyday of the 1940s and 1950s. Following a $1 million restoration by Gensler San Francisco, Tonga Room has rekindled the excitement of its unique and time-honored Accor to recapture the glory of one of the nation's first tiki palaces.

    What you will be doing:
    Reporting to the Tonga Room General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
    • Proven mixology knowledge and experience.
    • Maintain a professional but engaging interaction with Tonga Room guests and colleagues.
    • Assist guests regarding all beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way
    • Mix drinks and control the beverage stock as per guidelines
    • Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
    • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
    • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
    • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
    • Other duties as assigned

    Your skills and experience include:

    • Proven master of mixology preferred.
    • Excellent knowledge of all beverage products
    • Previous point of sale system experience an asset
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
    • Highly responsible & reliable
    • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
    • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

    Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

    • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
    • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
    • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
    • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
