· Provide key input into the development of the Plant’s strategic business plan and identify and track key measurable to support plant business plan goals.
· Develop and drive the development of departmental strategy goals and identify and track key measurable to support the department goals.
· Provide direction and leadership consistent with plant business plan goals.
· Responsible for tool and die department safety, quality, production, and delivery objectives.
· Responsible for leading all tool and die activities in the plant.
· Track, monitor, and implement required improvement activities related to business plan, goals, issues, etc.
· Assist, as required, plant activities to achieve customer cost reductions goals.
· Provide active leadership role in meeting / exceeding customer expectations in all related areas.
· Utilize teamwork to develop plant synergy.
· Develop and manage die preventive maintenance schedules.
· Responsible for ensuring accountability and discipline.
· Responsible for maintaining maximum levels of production utilization and efficiency.
· Responsible for driving the work team to assure timely and efficient repair of dies in order to achieve maximum throughput.
· Drive department manning levels and utilization to assure compliance to budget.
· Provide leadership and promote positive moral and ensure a total team concept.
· Provide the proactive leadership necessary to achieve and maintain a continuous improvement mind set for the team.
· Coordinate and assess required training and team building.
· Provide colleagues with the necessary training to be successful in their roles.
· Assure work orders are prioritized appropriately.
· Champion assigned engineering changes, communicate and coordinate accordingly to all departments.
· Provide input into quoting and business development activities (pricing, program management, plant capacity, etc.)
· Direct, drive and participate in problem solving methods for related plant and customer issues.
· Responsible for overall department coordination and communication.
· Communicate key information to the organization through the daily “shift to shift” communication plan.
· Drive and support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and quality registrations (ex. TS 16949, ISO 14001, etc.)
· Assure all direct reports are aware of their Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
· Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.
· Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify individual usage of personal protection equipment (PPE) by the work team.
· Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing all daily work activities.
· Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
· Maintain high level of housekeeping in the work area.
· Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)

Required Experience
This a full-time salary role in the Tool Room Department and reports to the Plant Manager. Interfaces on a frequent basis with the Production, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, Human Resources and Engineering Departments. Also interfaces on an as needed basis with the Information Technologies and Accounting Departments.
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides direct leadership to Tool and Die Supervisors and hourly colleagues.
· Ability to identify, select, train, and coach management talent.
· Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science in Manufacturing, Engineering or Industrial Technology Master degree preferred.
· Minimum of eight (8) years experience as a maintenance supervisor and/or Journeyman Tool & Die Maker preferred, and two (2) years of management experience.
· Knowledge of manufacturing, stamping, and/or assembly processes as required for the position.
· Strong knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 regulations.
· Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
· Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast paced environment.
· Ability to mentor and teach the team in effective problem solving methods.
· Demonstrated experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts.
· Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
· Experience as a training facilitator preferred.
· Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
· Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.
