Qualifications
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program set up and manipulation on machines to best fit our value stream
- Continuous improvement and maintenance on all machine reliability issues, tools and processes
- Occasionally work with engineers to implement product launches and refine and improve processes, controls and tooling
- Operator and tooling technician training on all machines and processes
- Preventative maintenance, CTQ checks, visual control, training and safety standard setup and improvement
- Maintain and organize: machine information, tooling, insert inventory, master tool log data bases
- Tool and gauging: set up, replacement, troubleshooting, tracking, ordering, design verification and inventory
- Occasionally obtain quotes for tooling and improvement project materials
- Write work requests, supply orders and part requisitions for machines and tooling
- Work closely with maintenance personnel to obtain root cause of repetitive machine problems
- Occasionally work with corporate teams to improve all door plant operations and productivity
- Kaizen implementation including building and fabricating whatever is needed
- Occasionally coordinate machine shop supplies orders and prototype design build and implementation
- Capability studies on machines
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of previous technical experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
- The ability to read measurements, work, or calculate numbers.
- The ability to use handheld tools, including but not limited to handheld pallet jacks, pneumatic staple guns, industrial hot glue guns, and power drills.
- Must be 18 years of age, have reliable transportation, and work overtime as needed.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Previous experience in assembly or a production-oriented environment preferred.
Additionally, selected candidates will be evaluated for several production-related roles based on business needs. All positions are physically demanding in some way; however, some roles require:
- The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50 lbs.; and
- The ability to stand or walk up to an entire shift (up to 10-12 hours).
