    Our successful hotel is looking for a hospitality professional with a sales mindset to assist in helping grow our hotel. You will serve as a liaison between the sales department and the front desk to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience at our hotel in addition to attracting new guests to increase our revenue. You'll be in charge of responding to guest inquiries, contacting potential new guests based on networking and referral leads, and assisting the sales team with administrative tasks. We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills as well as previous sales experience. Please apply as soon as possible if this describes you! Responsibilities: Maximize profits by selling more and providing upgrades to guests to ensure they are completely satisfied Assist clients by acting as a point of contact and communicating with them by phone and email in response to their queries and requests Manage schedules, file important documents, and communicate relevant information from the sales team to stakeholders and hotel departments Present prospective clients with sales presentations and other materials that promote event space, dining options, and facility features Create a list of business and referral leads through research and networking and make preliminary pitches The Sales Coordinator – for Topeka Plaza Hotel at City Center will assist the Sales Manager(s) with administrative duties including but not limited to word processing, account management, presentation preparation, and customer follow-up. This position will coordinate client needs and client events. The Sales Coordinator will coordinate communication with other departments as requested by the Sales Manager(s). • Coordinating client needs and client events. • Maintaining files. • May assist in selling guestrooms. • May assist in selling meeting rooms and additional services to companies or groups as needed. • Room set up and servicing meeting needs if needed. • Conducting site inspections. • Soliciting new and repeat business. • Maintaining organization of office files and entries into Envision system on a daily basis. • Preparing Banquet Event Orders and preparation for weekly meetings. • Attending Weekly Revenue Meetings as needed. • Attending Operations shift meetings as needed. • Effectively and efficiently following up on proposals, contracts, appointments, and all assigned tasks. Qualifications: Proven track record of sales success Must possess a high school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in business or a similar major is desired Prior experience working in the hospitality sector is required Stays organized and manage time well Demonstrated exceptional social, verbal, and negotiating abilities • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment. • Team player. • Refined verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient knowledge of computer applications. • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Minimum of 1-year sales/administrative or coordinator experience required, preferably in a hotel capacity. • Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant customer service role preferred. • Strong organization and computer skills required. • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks. • Must be outgoing and a proven self-starter. • Weekends and holidays may be required as business needs warrant. • College degree preferred. • Previous hospitality or related field preferred. • PowerPoint, Excel, and Word proficiency.
