    We are seeking to hire an organized, self-driven HR BENEFITS SPECIALIST to work out of our West Allis, Wisconsin office. The Benefits Specialist is a senior individual contributor and subject matter expert for health & welfare benefits, leave administering and retirement plans.

    The Benefits Specialist is responsible for Total Rewards administrative activities, including the areas of group life and health plans, benefits plans, employee services and discount programs. The Benefits Specialist also coordinates all matters related to disability management & leaves of absence with employees, managers, HR contacts, third-party vendors, and payroll. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

     EMPLOYEE BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION

     ·         Administer various employee benefit programs, such as group insurance, life, medical and dental, accident and disability insurance, and COBRA.

    ·         Provide benefits administrative assistance to employees.

    ·         Implement new benefit programs and annual Open Enrollment; arrange and conduct employee information presentations and enrollments. Manage benefits-related employee communications.

    ·         Maintain knowledge of current trends of employee total rewards programs (e.g., benchmarking company offerings to industry).

    ·         Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.

    ·         Responsible for administration of 401(k) program.  

    ·         Verify the calculation of the monthly premiums statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs.

     

    DISABILITY ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT

    ·         Administer disability management. Coordinate and handle all pay and leave tasks for partial disability cases.

    ·         Partner with 3rd party vendors to coordinate and handle all pay and health & welfare matters for employee leaves of absence.

    ·         Coordinate with 3rd party vendors on overpayment/repayment processing related to leaves of absence.

    ·         Coordinate all payments from other sources such as Social Security Disability, Worker's Compensation, military pay, state disability and state leave benefit payments.

    ·         Complete wage verifications required for disability and family leave insurance and other leave related wage, employment and health & welfare verifications.

    ·         Assist in defining leave policies & procedures based on legislative requirements.

    ·         Communicate leave plan rules and policy updates that may impact payroll.

    ·         Communicate with employees to advise of impacts on leave pay/benefits and to ensure a smooth leave and transition from leave.

    ·         Submit requests for unscheduled pay and provide processing input (e.g., stop payment requests, manual checks, ancillary benefits) as it relates to employee’s leave of absence.

     

    EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree in in Human Resources, Actuary Sciences, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required.
    • At least 5 years of HR Benefits experience.
    • Proficient at using HRIS and MS Office products.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrate a collaborative relationship across departments.
    • Positive, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Agile and comfortable with changing priorities.

    PREFERRED

    ·         Experience with UKG a plus

    CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

    • PHR certification a plus

     

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate.  Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant and may be exposed to higher noise levels.
