Essential duties and responsibilities: As a Tower Climber Technician you will be responsible for a full range of installation, repair and maintenance services on clients’ cellular towers including but not limited to:
· Performing transmission line and antenna systems installation
· Conducting repair and maintenance on lighting systems
· Troubleshooting, replacing and performing maintenance on 4G components, coax, jumpers, TMA’s, connectors, weatherproofing etc.
· Performing antenna and path alignments
· Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment; performs tower maintenance under close supervision.
· The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
· Knows the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
· The ability to climb tall structures (500 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.
· Analyzes situations accurately and adopts an appropriate course of action.
· Communicates orally and in writing.
· Follows instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action.
· Recognizes safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.
· Works under close supervision.
· Maintains clean, orderly environment adhering to company policies and industry regulation/standard(s) (OSHA)
· Knowledge of basic tower rigging techniques.
· Performs tape drops.
· Assists with testing procedures (sweeps, PIM, fiber testing etc.)
· Performs GPS antenna alignment.
· Proficient with installation of antennas, RRH’s, ground kits, RET systems.
· Runs required lines to top of the tower; grounds coax lines and builds different sizes and types of connectors.
Physical Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and a driving record that is satisfactory to the company’s vehicle insurance carrier.
Ability to commute to headquarters in Acwroth, GA
Infield training and experience, 2+ years preferred
Ability to work at heights of up to 500'
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
· Valid Driver’s License
· Computer Literacy (required for positions that involve the use of a computer)
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Good reading and writing skills (English)
· Clean Driving Record and valid Driver's License (a must) and reliable transportation to and from work.
· Must be able to accommodate out of town travel, if required.
· Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
Preference Given to Candidates with the Following:
· First Aid / CPR / Bloodborne Pathogens
· OSHA 10 / OSHA 30
· RF Safety Awareness
· Rigging Authorized / Rigging Competent
· Capstan Winch Operation
· TSR Authorized/ TSR Competent
· TTT 1 / TTT 2
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing, as well as participate in random screenings
