FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER

The Town of Bar Harbor is accepting applications for one (1) Full Time Police Officer.     Applications are being accepted to fill an immediate vacancy within the department.  This full service community offers an excellent wage and benefit package which includes paid vacations and holidays, family health insurance, 25 year/55 age retirement, and uniforms.  The starting rate for this position is anticipated to be $27.75/hour increasing to $29.21/hour after successful completion of the probationary period.

Minimum requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, good mental and physical condition, and certification as a reserve or full time law enforcement officer from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.  Applicants may be required to successfully pass written, oral, and physical examinations.  Final candidates will be subject to a thorough background investigation and may be required to successfully complete psychological and polygraph examinations.
