    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    Supports our compliance initiatives by monitoring import and export activities to ensure adherence to all applicable U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations. Involved in analyzing export classifications, monitoring compliance risk, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create and maintain export documentation while ensuring precise import/export filing and recordkeeping. Conduct regular audits of import/export activities against ACE/AES reports to verify regulatory compliance. Support the Freight Forwarder Approval Process by securing necessary Power of Attorney (POA) documentation and auditing freight invoices against established rate sheets.
    • Solicit and collect FTA certificates of origin and related documentation. Fulfill customer document requests, including those for free trade agreement certificates of origin. Evaluate products to determine country of origin and duty preference eligibility under applicable FTAs.
    • Execute HTS classifications and review both current and new product items. Maintain the item master in the ERP system, ensuring accurate records for HTS codes, origin, and item weight. Submit classification ruling requests to CBP and process requests through the BIS SNAP-R web application.
    • Generate commercial invoices, packing lists, and other international trade documents for special shipments, including marketing materials, RMA returns, and non-commercial products. Provide support for subsidiary engineering and manufacturing operations abroad, particularly for shipments of manufacturing equipment
    • Instruct customs brokers on filing entries and executing post-summary corrections. Prepare and conduct monthly reporting on import corrections and broker performance.

    Education:

    A bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain or related field or eight years of experience in lieu of the degree.

    • Demonstrates a strong understanding of U.S. export control laws, including ECCN, ITAR, and OFAC regulations.
    • Familiarity with international trade laws, such as sanctions and embargoes
    • Experience working with Customs regulations like HTS classification, country of origin rules, and tariffs.
    • Expertise in free trade agreements and import/export documentation—including AES, SED, and BIS licenses—is showcased.
    • Able to analyze export classifications, determining license requirements, and assessing potential risks
    • A strong attention to detail ensures compliance and prevents violations, while the ability to interpret and apply regulatory changes to business operations
    • Hands-on experience with trade compliance software, such as SAP GTS and Descartes, is complemented by proficiency in Excel, database management, and reporting.
    • Excels in collaborating with cross-functional teams—including legal, supply chain, logistics, sales, and shipping—and effectively interacts with third-party vendors such as Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders.
    • Experience in training employees on export compliance policies and procedures, combined with strong report writing and documentation skills.

    Additional Information

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $65k- $75k. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. The Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range during the interview process.
