Job Description Summary
The Training Instructional Designer is responsible for the creation, documentation, technical writing and implementation of online training content and training systems for Technical Training and related support activities of KEA.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and create e-learning courses, programs, workbooks and presentations for their effective use in the Kubota training program with minimal management oversight
Administer the Learning Management System to upload and maintain content and administer other functions including communications
Support the Training Manager for the training activities carried out by the Training Department
Analyze training content needs for e-learning and research related subject matter
Coordinate training product launch and obsoleting for e-learning on LMS and other systems
Create and maintain training system process map of e-learning and LMS activities
Coordinate with third party vendors or sister companies to create and maintain e-learning and related content and files, including photo and video archives
Oversee the acquisition, use and maintenance of KEA’s inventory of equipment, such as cameras, microphones and other video equipment, computers, smart boards, sound systems and related technology
Create technical publications such as newsletter, video and e-bulletins for website publication or other delivery methods
Monitor training industry trends and make recommendations for upgrades or improvements to e-learning or other training methods
Implement software or upgrades as necessary
Maintain an organized and secure work environment
Support co-workers in other departments as needed
Inform Manager of all noteworthy activities
Follow safety guidelines and department and corporate policies and procedures

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in photography and videography, especially lighting and composition
Proficiency in software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Articulate Storyline 360 or equivalent applications
Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines, maintain a flexible attitude and approach towards assignments, and maintain level of organization in a changing and fast paced environment
Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
Ability to comprehend a variety of instructions, both oral and written

Basic knowledge of mechanics and operation of diesel engines, gasoline engines and familiarity of engine diagnostic equipment
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or equivalent vocational training and related industry experience
3 – 5 years of experience in training and development in a technical field

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office or training lab environment. Noise level is moderate
Exposure to running engines. Noise level ranges from moderate to very loud
Limited exposure to the warehouse. Limited exposure to temperature variations when shipping doors are open
Regular exposure to vibration, fumes, gases, and proximity to moving mechanical parts
Handling of potentially dangerous chemicals or other substances, dangerous equipment, and tools
Work produced is subject to precise measures of quality and quantity
While traveling, will experience noise and comfort levels common to automobiles and airplanes
