We are currently looking for a reliable and efficient Transport Driver to join our team and help us maintain our high standards of service.

Position Summary: The Transport Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of Sweetheart Ice Cream products to our Fort Myers Facility, Ocala Facility as needed and our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of road safety, good driving habits, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Delivery: Transport Sweetheart Ice Cream products to assigned locations, ensuring timely deliveries in accordance with the scheduled routes.

Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy, clean, and well-maintained.

Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service during delivery, ensuring that products are delivered in perfect condition and addressing any customer inquiries or concerns.

Documentation: Complete all required delivery paperwork, including invoices, receipts, and delivery logs.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies to ensure the safety of yourself, passengers, and goods being transported.

Temperature Control: Ensure that ice cream products are transported under proper temperature conditions (e.g., using refrigerated units) to maintain product quality.

Route Optimization: Plan and follow efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel costs while ensuring timely deliveries.

Inventory Management: Assist with loading and unloading products, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained at delivery locations.

Problem Solving: Address any transportation or delivery issues promptly and report them to the operations manager.

Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license (Class B at a minimum).

Proven experience as a transport driver, delivery driver, or in a similar role.

Experience in refrigerated vehicle operation is a plus.

Familiarity with local roads, routes, and delivery areas.

Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle basic vehicle maintenance tasks.

Good physical stamina for loading and unloading products.

Strong commitment to safety and punctuality.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Flexibility to work early and mid shit hours, weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds).

Ability to drive for extended periods.

Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks (checking tires, fluids, etc.).
