Job Summary

We are seeking a professional, proactive and skilled Dispatcher to join our team. In this role, you will receive emergency and non-emergency calls and make quick decisions to ensure the proper action is taken. The ideal candidate is highly organized with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. They will be ads from and to the NY/NJ Ports and providing exceptional support to our clients and drivers in our sector.

Responsibilities

Receive inbound emergency and non-emergency calls

Schedule/dispatch client orders daily for following day

Collect and document information from callers

Must have working knowledge of the Port of NY & NJ Sysyems and processes

Strong Communication Skills and telephone etiquette

Computer Skills, email, Excel, Word

Generate customer bills to ensure the timely influx of account receivables

Type efficiently to document communications, update clients, generate billing etc

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED

Previous experience as a Dispatcher

Previous experience with NY/NJ Port Systems and scheduling

Familiarity with container/trailer types

Experience with over sized over dimension loads

Excellent typing and data entry skills

Understanding of best practices and procedures for the transportation industry and emergency response situations

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize projects

Ability to work well with others and under pressure
