JMT is seeking a dynamic and experienced Transportation Engineering Section Head to lead a growing team of traffic and roadway engineers in JMT’s District of Columbia (DC) office. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader and manager overseeing and ensuring success for a variety of transportation projects and services to clients. The candidate will also serve as principal in business development activities, including identifying and tracking target markets, developing and implementing strategies for pursuits, proposal development, and fostering relationships and new opportunities.
The successful candidate will be well-versed in Traffic Engineering or Highway Engineering with demonstrated related experience. The successful candidate will effectively oversee and mentor staff and perform, coordinate, and manage a variety of traffic and highway related engineering projects or contract task assignments. Coordination with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and project stakeholders is expected.
Compensation for this position is $85.00 - $110.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office environment with a mix of designated, shared and hoteling workspace. Office includes a mix of natural and artificial light and climate control. Each employee has access to necessary equipment including laptop computers, and access to phones, printers, and other office equipment and supplies. Employees offered optional flexible work schedules including a combination of office and remote work.
