    Job Description

    We are looking for a Transportation & Logistics Coordinator to ensure efficient and cost-effective booking loads and load quotes. This key role is responsible for organizing, scheduling and providing efficient transportation for our distribution center. It is responsible for rate analysis and negotiation, planning, coordinating, and scheduling the transportation of goods to ensure timely delivery. This role involves coordinating with drivers and carriers, managing transportation schedules, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

    We are seeking a self-starter that is proactive and is able to work semi-autonomously on site. To be successful in this role, our candidate will be solution oriented, high energy and technologically savvy.

    Job Description and Responsibilities

    Scheduling and Coordination:

    - Plan and schedule transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.- Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to manage schedules.- Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen circumstances.

    Rate Analysis and Negotiation: - Analyze transportation costs, compare carriers, and negotiate rates with freight carriers to secure the best pricing for shipments while meeting delivery deadlines.

    Communication:

    - Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, carriers, and customers regarding scheduling and delivery inquiries.- Provide timely updates and communicate any changes to delivery schedules.- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to transportation schedules.

    Compliance and Documentation:

    - Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including schedules, routes, and delivery logs.- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.

    Performance Monitoring:

    - Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation activities, such as on-time delivery rates.- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance performance.- Conduct regular performance reviews with drivers and carriers to ensure adherence to schedules and standards.

    Problem Solving:

    - Address and resolve any issues or delays in transportation schedules.- Collaborate with other departments, such as warehouse and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.- Implement contingency plans to mitigate the impact of disruptions to the transportation schedule.

    Continuous Improvement: - Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to transportation scheduling.- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

    Experience Requirements

    • High school diploma/GED required
    • 2+ years of experience in transportation scheduling inbound/outbound loads, logistics, or related field
    • Working knowledge of legal regulations and ISO requirements
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency in Salesforce/Google Docs and logistics software preferred
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Strong knowledge of Google Docs preferred
    • Warehousing: 1 year (Required)
