Transportation Specialist
Overview
The Transportation Specialist oversee the movement of goods by land, sea, or air. Their decisions on carrier selection, route planning, and freight negotiations directly affect the cost and efficiency of the supply chain. This role demands an understanding of global trade regulations, transportation modalities, and environmental considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage customer experience through efficient quoting, booking, and tracking shipments.
Follow up on customer requests and proactively work to assist customers in managing their supply chain.
Collaborate with vendors and SEKO offices to ensure on-time delivery performance through effective communication and order process execution.
Schedule and prioritize inbound and outbound freight movements.
Ensure SEKO’s transportation management system is up to date and accurate.
Comply with SEKO's C-TPAT Security Profile.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in logistics or related field preferred.
Degree in transportation or a related field preferred.
Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Functional knowledge of the supply chain
People skills and relationship building
Deadline-oriented
Problem solving
Continuous Improvement mindset.
Software skills such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are highly preferred.
Provide on-the-job training by expert Domestic Operations Agents
The Transportation Specialist reports to the Operations Manager. The position is full-time with benefits offered of paid holidays, PTO (paid time off) and participation in our benefits program which includes medical, dental, and 401(k).
