Job Summary
We are seeking a part time (1-3 days/week) MD/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team to see patients at home on the North side of Chicago (north of the 290)! As a provider you will be examining patients, collecting patient medical history, and making tentative diagnoses on minor and major issues. You will also be reading diagnostic tests and reports, interpreting data, taking the time with each patient to explain their test results and medical diagnoses, and prescribing therapy or medication with a physician's approval. The ideal candidate has an excellent bedside manner, experience charting in a medical environment, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. You would be accompanied by (if you wish) an experienced medical assistant that is bilingual in Spanish and English that will drive you to each patients home, take vitals, translate (if necessary) and scribe for you. Every team is equipped with an internet based laptop in order to finish the medical note during the visit on our EMR CureMD. Your erx and EPCS will be set up so you can refill and rx via erx as well. At the end of the day, our goal is for the patients to receive the best possible medical care while keeping them safe in their home.
Responsibilities
Examine each patient, take a detailed medical history, and chart everything medically important in their records
Read test results, interpret data appropriately, and make diagnostic suggestions based on those results
Explain to the patient test results and expected health outcomes
Prescribe medication or therapy with a physician overseeing as part of a larger health plan
Work closely with nurses, other Physician Assistants, and Physicians to formulate a full, comprehensive treatment plan
Qualifications
Valid state licensing required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with medical terminology, charting, and diagnostic tests
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
