Tri-State Tree Service is searching for a skilled tree worker and climber to join our company. A Tree Climber is responsible for the safe and efficient pruning, trimming, and removal of trees. This role requires physical strength, technical skill, and a thorough understanding of tree biology and safety protocols. Tree Climbers work in various settings, including residential, commercial, and municipal properties. The Tree Climber duties include reporting to the foreman, assisting teamwork, collecting and piling branches, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring hazard-free work areas. You should be able to work with a variety of crew members. Outstanding Tree Climbers should be able to carry out instructions efficiently and complete all maintenance tasks to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Tree Pruning and Trimming: Safely prune and trim trees to maintain their health, shape, and safety, following industry standards.
Tree Removal: Perform safe and efficient tree removal, including dismantling trees in sections and removing debris.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure the safety of oneself, the team, and the public.
Equipment Use and Maintenance: Operate and maintain climbing gear, chainsaws, ropes, and other tree care equipment.
Inspections and Assessments: Conduct tree inspections to identify potential hazards, diseases, or structural problems.
Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide professional advice on tree care.
Ground Crew Coordination: Work closely with ground crew members to ensure efficient and safe tree care operations.
Reporting any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.
Adhering to company and environmental regulations at all times.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Physical Fitness: Excellent physical condition with the ability to climb trees, lift heavy objects, and perform strenuous activities.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in tree climbing techniques, rope systems, and the use of chainsaws and other arboricultural tools.
Knowledge of Tree Biology: Understanding of tree species, diseases, pests, and proper pruning techniques.
Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess situations and make quick, effective decisions.
Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication with clients and team members.
Experience: Prior experience in tree climbing, arboriculture, or a related field is highly desirable.
Certifications: Certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist, Tree Worker Climber Specialist, or equivalent are preferred.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Working Conditions

Physical Demands: Frequent climbing, lifting, bending, and working at heights.
Hazards: Exposure to potential hazards such as falling branches, sharp tools, and power lines.
