Tri-State Tree Service is seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Service Machine Operator to join our team. The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating various types of machinery used in tree care, removal, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating tree service equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision in all tasks. To be successful as a tree worker, you should be physically strong and able to work in extreme weather conditions. Outstanding tree workers should be able to carry out instructions efficiently and complete all maintenance tasks to the highest standard.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation: Operate machinery such as tree spades, stump grinders, bucket trucks, cranes, chippers, and other specialized tree care equipment.
Tree Removal and Trimming: Assist with or directly conduct tree removal, trimming, and pruning operations, ensuring minimal damage to surrounding areas.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members and clients.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to coordinate tasks and complete projects efficiently.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and any incidents or accidents.
Carrying out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman.
Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instruction
Inspecting equipment and tools and performing repairs and maintenance when required.
Using the appropriate gear and observing safety protocols.
Reporting any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.
Adhering to company and environmental regulations at all times.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Previous work experience as a tree groundsman or similar.
Good physical strength, fitness, vision, and hearing.
The ability to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop.
The ability to transport heavy items.
Excellent balance and depth perception.
Superb communication skills.
The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
The willingness to work during unfavorable weather conditions.
A positive attitude.
