Translation Project Manager (Asia)

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a fulltime, remote project manager who will work virtually to support our client. You need to be available for 8 AM to 5 PM or 9 AM to 6 PM (GMT+08:00). [Note this is an Asia time zone.]
· 1 year of translation project management experience is required
· Knowledge of CAT tools such as MemoQ or Trados
· Knowledge of Plunet a huge plus
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Support cost estimate analysis and preparation
· Development of efficient workflows and oversee the use and maintenance of tools such as translation memories, style guides, and glossaries
· Preparation of files to be translated and transcribed
· Placement of projects with translators and transcriptionists
· Negotiation of budgets and deadlines with freelance translators; keeping track of project profit margins and negotiating rates where applicable.
· Development of schedules
· Supervision of the progress of translation projects
· Updating translation memory tools
· Reviewing translated documents, vendor translation quality reviews, and proofing all outgoing projects as a final QA.
· Investigating client language questions
· Work as part of a team to ensure workloads are evenly distributed
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative tasks and management reporting.
· Analysis of projects using translation memory software
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, foreign language, translation, or related field
· Minimum two years translation industry experience
· Thorough knowledge and regular use of at least one CAT tool (such as Trados or MemoQ).
· Knowledge of Plunet a big plus
· Knowledge of transcription and proven aptitude with a wide variety of media players & foot pedals is a huge plus
· Excellent level of English
· Able to juggle multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Positive attitude and a true team player
· Ability to develop budgets and timelines
· Energetic self-starter with initiative and creative approach to problem solving
· Strong computer skills including MS Office and Internet applications
· Commitment to professional customer service
· Fluency in English
