Job Description
I am seeking a highly motivated Territory Sales Representative for Western PA and Southeastern Ohio. I prefer that this Territory Sales Representative reside in Columbus, Ohio or the Pittsburgh, PA area. The Territory Sales Representative will develop, manage and provide sales support to the assigned marketplace. The marketplace is comprised of both small cabinet and woodworking shops, Kitchen Dealers, larger OEMs, and wholesale distributors. The Territory Sales Representative will be responsible for demonstrations, training, technical assistance, sales prospecting, customer relationship management, customer sales calls, and distribution sales support.
Other responsibilities for the Territory Sales Representatives will include:
· Reviewing changing trends that require immediate action to ensure that sales objectives are achieved.
· Analyzing competitor products, strategies and pricing for use in product presentations and sales arguments
· Contributing to major marketing strategies, based on knowledge of existing markets and future expectations.
· Developing product plans/strategies for key accounts
· Develop and maintain customer profiles based on knowledge of key distributor and OEM accounts.
· Train distributor personnel on product features and benefits, product applications, as well as troubleshooting techniques for potential field issues
· Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
· Prepare detailed plans for scheduled customer visits.
· Collaborate with the Manufacturer's Regional Sales Manager to prepare and present semi-annual reviews with distributors, as well as developing effective territory plans to achieve goals.
· Prepare various reports relating to travel, expenses, and customer calls/visits.
· Represent our list of Manufacturers at trade shows to promote products and to build new while maintaining existing business relationships.
· Advise distributors on policies and operating procedures to ensure functional effectiveness of business.
· Assist and advise our distributor’s sales force in the use of sales promotion tools and techniques.
· Making frequent visits to current and prospective customers to solicit orders, evaluate needs, and to demonstrate and explain the features/benefits/applications of products and services.
· At the customer’s request, following-up on orders to verify material list accuracy and delivery schedule meets customer’s expectation.
· Prepare and review updates to product forecasts with major accounts.
Qualifications:
The Territory Representative will need to have the ability to communicate effectively in order to succeed. Other requirements include:
· Undergraduate degree closely related to business, sales, or marketing
· Minimum two years of field sales experience is required
· Computer, CRM, and email skills are required
· Prior experience in the woodworking industry would be helpful
· Team player that enjoys being and working with others as well as individually (individual or group setting)
· Solid teaching skills, along with a strong technical aptitude is required
· Can maintain a strong customer service focus
· Finds it easy to adjust one’s behavior in order to deal effectively with other people
· Is organized, analytical, and detail oriented
· Can influence the opinions and decisions of others, while being empathetic to their needs
· Is effective at establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships
· Can exceed customer expectations by staying engaged while increasing your value and responsiveness to their needs
· Effective at managing your time, resources, and assigned projects
Compensation
· Salary and Commission commensurate with experience. Strong 401K package with benefits.
