    Job Description

    Truck Centers, Inc. is continually growing, and that means we have a need for Body Shop Technician Apprentices to join our team and learn the trade! Body Shop Tech Apprentices will have mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn and grow in a thriving shop environment. Our apprentices have the unique experience to get their tools and toolbox provided for them upon entry so that they don't have to worry about that expense out the gate! These tools and toolbox are theirs to keep if they stay with Truck Centers for 2 years. As an apprentice, you must have the ability to follow documented processes, motivation to continue to learn your craft, and steady performance in a deadline-driven environment.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Review each repair order (RO) and estimator’s notes to understand the repairs needed prior to beginning work on the vehicle.
    • Perform vehicle teardown, repairs of all types, welding, and painting as instructed.
    • Identify parts necessary for repair completion and work in conjunction with Parts department to reduce downtime.
    • General knowledge of heavy-duty operating systems and OEM technical repair processes.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace according to company and Elite Support guidelines.
    • Build strong working relationships with colleagues within the department and seek opportunities to partner with others to achieve goals and objectives.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Must participate in a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements is required
    • Class A CDL with air brake endorsement is highly preferred
    • Fabrication, painting, and/or welding experience is a plus
    • All apprentice technicians must complete at least one year of structured, on-the-job training through TCI
    • Demonstrated strong personal conviction of producing quality work
    • Proven technical skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 110 lbs. without assistance
