JOB SUMMARY: The Truck Driver transports furniture and other donations in the local region while prioritizing safety, customer service, and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Check vehicles to ensure they are mechanically sound and road safe. Check emergency equipment and supplies to make sure they are stocked and functional.
· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
· Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
· Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
· Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
· Deliver excellent customer service to safely receive, secure, and transport donations. Provide donation receipts and other helpful resources to customers.
· Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
· Communicate with supervisors, other drivers and the broader team to proactively identify and resolve issues.
· Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
· Read and interpret maps and GPS to determine vehicle routes.
· Load and unload trucks or help others with loading and unloading; safely employ material handling equipment for appropriate tasks.
· Receive donated items at the store, sort and supply Production Associates with raw materials to meet daily production goals.
· Other duties as assigned by store management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum Experience: 3 years of non-CDL truck driving.
