  • Responsibilities

    Successful candidates must reside in Indianapolis, IN or the surrounding area.

    As the Relief Truck Driver for WasteMedX, you will have a direct impact on our frontline operations, customers and overall customer satisfaction and service. The individual in this role will drive service routes in tandem with a teammate driver and assist in loading, unloading, and documenting all levels of service for medical waste. This role allows us to serve our customers as the direct waste pick-up person for waste processing.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist in driving and operating a medium duty truck to and from customer locations.
    • Load and unload packaged medical waste.
    • Utilize route software to set up driving route based on location and volume.
    • Interact with hospital personnel and driving teammate in a professional and clear manner.
    • Utilize ramps, rollers, and loading docks to move medical waste from facilities to the processing location.
    • Handle regulated medical waste, (examples of medical waste: blood or other body fluids, sharps containers, and other non-hazardous medical waste).

    ** What We’re Looking for in a Candidate**

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
    • Experience as a delivery truck driver preferred.
    • Required to maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
    • Required to maintain confidentiality when handling patient information.
    • Work a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30a – 2:30p, with the ability to be flexible with schedule based on operating hours and business needs.
    • Willingness to drive a medium duty truck for long periods of time.
    • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
