    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS :

    This position reports directly to the Plant Manager or Shift Production Supervisor.

    PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE :

    Under general supervision, is responsible for outbound/inbound bulk truck activities to support the manufacturing of products. This includes bulk truck loading, receiving, warehousing, shipping, trailer transport and inspection.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    • Load bulk and bag trucks.
    • Scale and unload ingredient trucks.
    • Receive in bulk ingredients into SAP at completion of unload.
    • Gather/stage feed for bag trucks.
    • Perform housekeeping that include cleaning the receiving and loadout area daily, clean the N-line loadout daily and blow down receiving area weekly.
    • Assist in monitoring maintenance needs on trucks/trailers and communicate with supervisor.
    • Shuttle trailers and trucks around facility; if CDL-licensed, may shuttle to repair shops.
    • Maintain storage trailer inventory; keep open communication with Warehouse Supervisor.
    • Update truck schedule and record transactions using spreadsheet and SAP.
    • Operate a forklift truck in a safe manner.
    • Maintain a clean, safe warehouse area. Adhere to all safety regulations and routine report unsafe conditions or acts to supervisor.
    • Assist in production area as required.
    • Comply with all company standard operating procedures.
    • Comply with FDA, OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.
    • Perform other work-related duties as requested or required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Be able to succeed within and adhere to the culture of the Furst-McNess Company.
    • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
    • Education equivalent to high school diploma.
    • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English.
    • Ability to ascend ladders and various heights using stairs, elevated walkways and/or elevators.
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or stoop up to 60 lbs. of material on an occasional basis.
    • Ability to maneuver heavy loads (up to 2,000 lbs. pallets) with a pallet jack; safely operate all equipment along with being a certified forklift operator.
    • Ability to work the scheduled days and hours that the business requires.
    • Ability to perform basic data entry operations. SAP experience a plus.
    • Ability to learn and comply with GMP and regulatory requirements imposed on manufacturing facilities by the FDA, OSHA and EPA in regard to manufacturing of food and drug products.
    • Good communication skills, both oral and written, and is capable of utilizing these skills within all levels of the Company as well as externally.
    • Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all associates and management staff, showing a sense of urgency relative to solving problems, performing assigned tasks, employee concerns, etc.
    • Ability to effectively organize work schedules and manage multiple assignments by utilizing time management skills to ensure day-to-day assignments and special projects are completed within guidelines agreed upon.
    • Ability to work as an effective team member with the manufacturing department and company, as a whole. Willingness to pitch in and do work that may not be a specific part of the job description for the overall good of the department and company.
    • Ability to be flexible and be willing to change along with recommending changes that can enhance our ability to serve both internal and external customers more effectively and in a professional manner. Respect other peoples' points of view and able to take constructive criticism.
