  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    This work is done in compliance with the procedures defined by the client and in conformance with company procedures. His/her duties involve daily communication and interaction with drivers and customers. He/she must also organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance. Tracks and reports sign-in/sign-out times, assures routes are timely, and communicates service issues to the Supervisor or Manager as appropriate.

    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Filter client calls/emails and communicates issues with drivers and management team as appropriate.
    • Monitor and dispatch drivers verbally by phone.
    • May assign work duties to qualified employees to assure adequate coverage of all shifts and assigned routes.
    • Monitors daily system performance and reporting of any late pickups or delivery’s to supervisor and customer service.
    • Notes all absences and/or tardiness issues and communicates same to Supervisor.
    • Screens driver’s daily logs, route sheets and monitors driver’s available hours of service to ensure adequate available hours for subsequent dispatch.
    • Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
    • Dispatch drivers for U.S. domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations and established internal policies and guidelines.
    • Notify drivers of assignments and direct their activities to ensure cargo is picked up and delivered according to time-sensitive schedules.
    • Review and assimilate stored data and enter new data in computer database.
    • Additional duties, as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    · Minimum of 3 years previous intermodal dispatching experience a must

    · Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously

    · Ability to handle high volume emails and phone calls

    · High attention to detail and follow through on daily tasks and projects

    · Excellent organization skills and logical thinking

    · Strong verbal and written communications skills

    · Strong computer skills with knowledge of Outlook, Excel and word processing

    · Excellent customer service skills
