    Summary: Associated Truss & Lumber Co is a growing floors and roofs truss, lumber company in the manufacturing industry. We are a family owned local company with 110 local employees that mold and drive the company where it is today. We are seeking a Designer with extensive experience with background on multi-family truss design using MiTek software. The ideal candidate will collaborate with sales and production teams as well design and create layouts for roofs and floors for sing-family, multi-family, and commercial customers. This candidate will have a Design Administrator to assist with process and close out. In addition, a Design Analyst will check for quality and accuracy of the design. This position reports to the Design Manager. Responsibilities • Design roof and floor trusses for single family, multi-family and light commercial projects. • Ability to use software to view plans/buildings in 3D. • Navigate windows explorer with server/folder knowledge. • Size and specify EWP for load analysis using provided software. • Size and specify hangers for truss to truss and truss to beam. • Contact outside sources to resolve questions or concerns in the design process (RFI's). • Superior communication skills with one on one interaction and small group interaction to convey ideas, requirements, and challenge assumption advocates for users while respecting others’ points of view. • Coordinate with other designers to eliminate duplication of material/framing. • Comfortable with working independently yet prefer to work in interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems and deliver high quality work. • Create clear, concise communication for peers as well as outside contacts. • Work closely with clients, users and team members to fully utilize design software. • Assist with technical questions regarding trusses and framing with trusses. • Assist sales team with technical questions from customers. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Minimum physical requirements due to interaction with production. The employee must be able to sit for a given period, stand, maneuver up and down the stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
