Etolin Strait Development Group (ESDG) is an Alaskan Native 8(a) Small Business General Contractor and has an SBA Approved Mentor Protégé Agreement with TST Construction. TST has been successful in assisting ESDG in establishing a presence in the Mid-Atlantic, South Atlantic, and Northern Virginia regions.
JOB SUMMARY: The Contract Administrator (CA) at TST is responsible for assisting project managers and superintendents with numerous administrative and accounting aspects through the project’s completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and carry out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service. Advance the overall structure and tools that maximize the project’s potential. Implement effective methods and strategies to secure organizational well-being. Active communication with all levels of our company. Keep confidentiality of sensitive information. Support Project Managers and Superintendents with required documentation involved in job set-up. Provide project-level basic accounting by booking and tracking contract amounts, budgets, commitments, change orders, and invoices. Review all prime contracts for TST’s compliance. Prepare, issue, and track all administrative and accounting aspects of subcontracts. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. Accomplish all duties involved with administering contracts, including negotiation, correspondence, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and certification for major contracts.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: Emphasis is placed on the quality of a candidate’s character and work ethic. Specific duties, tasks, and responsibilities can be taught to anyone possessing the drive and dedication. We do not teach character or work ethic. Requires proactive, inquisitive, dependable work ethic with steadfast attention to detail and initiative. Must be fully committed, steady and efficient, with a swift sense of urgency to accomplish the task at hand. An organized, responsible person capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight. Cautious and conscientious, caring deeply about personal contributions and taking great pride in the quality of their work. Must possess awareness and appreciation of working for something larger than oneself, and that contribution is a crucial aspect to achieving TST’s mission of serving others. College degree in business or a related field is preferred but not required. Knowledge of construction industry in Federal Government Contracting managing administration of large projects with multiple subcontractors preferred. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, terms, and conditions, and policies governing assigned contracts including FAR, DFAR, and VAAR. Strong understanding, reading, and analysis of contracts are mandatory. Understanding of design-build construction contracts preferred. Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, or VA preferred but not required. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience in accounting software is preferred but not required. Strong leadership, team building, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Excellent communication skills. Aptitude to stay organized and complete multiple projects with minimal supervision. Strong administrative skills and attention to detail. Capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and ever-changing environment.
