Job Description
Responsibilities:
Manage the loading and/or storage of all products for shipment in accordance with D.O.T. Trucking rules and regulations.
Facilitates the scheduling of repairs and maintenance on related equipment at the Tyler Pipe LASC facility.
Maintains the Tyler Pipe LASC facility in clean and orderly fashion that aligns with Tyler Pipe environmental and safety policies.
Consults with Tyler Pipe Sales and Shipping departments to accurately schedule and manage orders, ensuring shipping requirements are met and equipment is available for outbound finished products.
Coordinates with the Tyler Pipe Production Planning and Purchasing Departments to ensure uniform stock levels and adequate inventories on all materials and products.
Serves as a liaison for the Tyler Pipe LASC shipping department, coordinating with others to ensure vital services are provided and facilitating collaboration between departments on special shipping projects.
Provides leadership to subordinates such as training new and prospective employees. Directs activities in the areas of supervision, safety, waste prevention, quality, and good housekeeping.
Responsible for processing paperwork and data entry required for shipping products at Tyler Pipe LASC, including printing pick tickets, completing packing slips, and verifying shipments.
Plan and schedule customer deliveries with company truck to ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer orders.
Uses software applications such as D365, MS Excel, and mileage software to prepare various reports, and submits them promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
Implement the department's coordination with freight carriers to ensure accuracy of freight charges.
Recommends and/or implements improvements in the Tyler Pipe LASC shipping operations and methods leading toward greater unit efficiency regarding quality, quantity, and cost of operation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must reside in, or be willing to relocate, to Fontana, CA.
Extensive knowledge of shipping practices and procedures plus knowledge of D.O.T. rules rail loading requirements and regulations.
Five years of proven track record in like work experience.
Valid driver’s license and ability to align with Tyler Pipe Company's driving policy.
Proficient in computer systems and communications, with a solid understanding of D365.
Be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision.
