    LEASING & HOUSING COORDINATOR

    CLASSIFICATION: Level 1/2 / Class 1615/1215 / Full-Time / Non-Exempt / Benefited / Represented

    ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $28.74 - $34.60 / hour

    THE DEPARTMENT

    UC Law San Francisco is building a world-class campus housing facility with 656 residential units called the Academe at 198. Following completion of that project, UC Law San Francisco will commence a renovation of the existing 252 units of housing located at the Tower at 100, resulting in 908 total housing units at the campus within five years. Campus Housing is committed to serving our students, community, and stakeholders.

    THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Under the general direction of the Director of Campus Housing, the Leasing & Housing Coordinator plans, coordinates, and administers leasing and marketing aspects of the College's graduate and professional campus housing services, residential life, and related facilities. The Leasing & Housing Coordinator will first work to lease-up the 656 units at the Academe at 198 and ultimately will support the lease-up and retention of all 908 campus housing units, in coordination with the Campus Housing staff. To fulfill this vision and accomplish our objectives, we need relational and diligent people to help us and serve our community.

    Typical duties and responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Responsible for greeting prospective tenants, including fielding all incoming calls and emails, and establishing and maintaining a strong customer service relationship including follow-up with prospects that do not close.
    • Provides tours and shares details about available campus housing including review of floor plans, rental rates, and all relevant documentation.
    • Processes and reviews housing applications for approval including answering related questions.
    • Prepares property leases, contracts, and all relevant paperwork based upon templates created in partnership with the General Counsel and Purchasing offices.
    • Supports marketing initiatives to support lease-up including distribution of pamphlets and flyers to local businesses/employers, social media, and email outreach.
    • Offers recommendations to overcome sales obstacles and respond to customer feedback.
    • Prepares reports including occupancy and financial utilizing leasing software platform.
    • Responds to resident requests, complaints, and comments.
    • Assists with enforcing policies and rules of the residential community.
    • Supports planning, marketing, and hosting resident events and functions/programming.
    • Participate in mailroom operations.
    • Ensure completion of work orders responding to resident needs.
    • Support planning and provide on-hand support for “turn” periods when existing residents depart and new residents need to quickly move-in before the start of the next school term. This may require some weekend work and overtime shifts.
    • Support compliance with emergency and safety procedures.
    • Provide exemplary customer service to external and internal consumers.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Undergraduate degree and one year of office experience, ideally in a customer service, leasing, or sales role. Four years of related work experience may substitute for education.
    • Demonstrated leasing, sales, or customer service experience in a student or campus housing environment preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Proficiency with StarRez lease management software is preferred.
    • Must have excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Outlook proficiencies.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports, property leases, and contracts.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
    • Possess strong customer service orientation.
    • Advanced communication skills.
    • Organization, leadership qualities, and strong people skills are essential.
    • Represent the property earnestly and positively in any given situation.
    • Readiness and willingness to adjust direction and pace to satisfy business needs.
    • Build community by building relationships.
