    Position Overview

    Under direct and general supervision, will be assigned to maintenance jobs, which require a comprehensive knowledge of the work gained by a broad and varied experience in maintenance. Must be thoroughly experienced in the maintenance methods and procedures required for the various plant building, facilities, systems, and equipment. When necessary, will operate vehicles, handling equipment, cranes - including mobile and overhead - and other mechanical equipment. Will handle tools, parts, equipment of all types, and maintenance materials. Performs other duties incidental to the work and other assignments.

    Working Conditions

    Works in all plant facilities, inside or outside. Is subject to dirt, grease and soot. May work in excessively hot or cold areas at times. Works around moving equipment, near electric lines. May be exposed while properly protected to process gas in connection with process repair work.

    Physical Demands:

    Balancing, bending, crawling, crouching, climbing, kneeling, lifting up to 100lbs, pulling, pushing, full use of hands, standing 25%, walking 75%, working at high speed, seeing- color vision, seeing - depth perception, normal vision (class I equipment) normal hearing. Must be able to wear company provided respiratory and other personal protective equipment when required.

    Confined space, dry environment, dusty environment, hot environment, humid environment, exposure to burns, oil/greases, inside work, high places, mechanical hazards, moving objects, noisy environment, alkali, radioactive material, acids, sudden temperature change, outside work, vibrations, wet environment, fumes - gases - vapors

    Required Contingencies:

    • The ability to obtain/maintain "L" or "Q" Clearance one year from hire date

    Minimum of four years previous Sheetmetal experience and be able to operate all shop tools; layout experience essential. Must have valid state drivers license and be able to operate standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
