    This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

    International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to care for VA members and their families. An Ultrasound Technologist operates specialized imaging equipment to create diagnostic pictures of patients' internal structures, assisting physicians in diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions. They also ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures while maintaining accurate records and images for analysis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of patients' organs and tissues.
    • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
    • Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal imaging results.
    • Analyze and interpret images for accuracy before presenting them to physicians.
    • Maintain and manage ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order.
    • Document and maintain patient records, including images and reports.
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in patient diagnosis.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures during procedures.
    • Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques.
    • Provide support and education to patients regarding ultrasound procedures and results.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements/Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience performing general and vascular ultrasound examinations.
    • Completion of an accredited ultrasound program and license in any US state or territory.
    • Certification by a recognized professional organization, such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or ARRT-US.

    Education Required:

    • Associate's degree in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field or
    • Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

    Other Special Qualifications:

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
    • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
