Job description

Urban Security is looking for competent security officers to undertake the surveillance of client premises and protection of their staff and visitors. You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behaviors including but not limited to trespassing, vandalism, thefts or any other criminal behavior on property and calling police, fire or medical if needed. A security officer must be well-trained in dealing with the public. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of professionalism and presence.

Responsibilities

Patrol premises by foot regularly to maintain and establish presence.

Monitor entrance of people on properties.

Make contact with wrongdoers or trespassers.

Contact Law Enforcement, Medical of Fire Department when needed (Call 911).

Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.

Provide assistance when needed.

Submit reports of daily activity and important occurrences.

Maintain valid current certifications throughout employment.

Skills

Proven experience as security officer or guard.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Have a basic understanding of Microsoft office, Word, Excel etc.

Must have smart phone.

Familiarity with report writing

Excellent surveillance and observation skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to assess, triage, and if needed formulate and implement a plan of action.

Must have a pair of black 511 style pants and black boots OR all black shoes.

12 hour shift

Holidays

Night shift

Overnight shift

Overtime

Weekend availability

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

Security: 1 year (Preferred)

Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Guard Card (Preferred)
