Through its wholly owned insurance carrier, Upland Specialty Insurance Company, the company markets, underwrites and services specialty insurance products in select markets to include excess transportation, construction casualty, excess casualty, primary general liability, excess public entity, professional liability errors and omissions as well as excess cyber liability.

    As an Excess and Surplus (E&S) carrier, we face unique and interesting problems every day. We are looking for an Underwriting Operations Specialist to join our Underwriting Operations team. The primary role of the Underwriting Operations Specialist is to support the Client Services department in all operational tasks for all programs.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supporting the Client Services department on a number of required daily tasks pertaining to the quality control of company processes
    • Perform daily quality control reviews of binding/premium documents for all programs
    • Perform processing requirements & quality control reviews of premium bearing endorsements for all programs
    • Assist with state compliance reporting, file document audits & data entry for the company throughout the year
    • Assist with processing time sensitive high volume month-end document reviews (Binders/Endorsements & additional documents as required) for all programs
    • Processing policy cancellation calculations & endorsements for all programs
    • Call finance companies to verify the current payment & policy status
    • Supporting the premium receivables daily processes (Generating follow-up reminder emails to brokers, scanning & labeling finance company notices) as needed
    • Setup broker profiles upon approval of a company appointment
    • Assist with additional assignments as required by management

    Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

    • High school diploma required, 3 years of insurance experience preferred
    • Must be detail oriented with the ability to work independently and as a team
    • Ability to pivot between day-to-day tactical and strategic activities
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong data entry skills with high level of accuracy and efficiency
    • Ability to multitask and stay organized
    • Proficient with computer, email, and Microsoft Office products
    • Ability to manage required daily & monthly due dates and follow up timeliness

    Disclosures:

    Pay Estimate: $45,000-$55,000/year

    Other compensation: annual incentive program
