United Cerebral Palsy of Rhode Island (UCPRI) has an opportunity for you to
positively impact a child's life by helping them learn, grow, and achieve their
potential.
We are seeking kindhearted, reliable individuals to work in our Home-Based
Therapeutic Services (HBTS) program as Behavior Specialists. Behavior Specialists
support children with disabilities, working 1:1 with the child in their home and
community.
We currently have part-time opportunities throughout the state including
Cumberland, Providence, Woonsocket, Smithfield, Barrington, East Greenwich, and
Central Falls. Shifts begin after school hours, between 2:30-4:30pm and are
typically 3-4 hours long.
Behavior Specialist responsibilities:
Implement the service plan developed by the clinical supervisor
Engage in community-based activities with the child such as trips to local
playgrounds, libraries, or grocery stores
Coach child in safety and social skill development
Aid with self-help and self-care activities and personal hygiene routines
Duties will vary based upon needs of the child but may include engaging in
activities such as play therapy and movement games to work on fine and
gross motor skills and achieve growth goals
Provide guidance and redirection for clients with disabilities
Write organized daily communication logs
Record daily data collection to the client's daily goals/tasks written in the
service plan
Communicate progress and/or status with the Clinical Supervisor and
Treatment Coordinator
Behavior Specialist requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma/GED
A valid driver's license with an acceptable record
Reliable transportation and proof of vehicle insurance
Must pass background check
Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
