    MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

    UNITED CONSTRUCTION COMPANY is currently seeking an experienced Marketing & Communications Manager to oversee and execute all marketing efforts ranging from day-to-day activities to higher-level company initiatives. A successful candidate must possess professional writing and graphic design skills to produce high-quality, internal and external communications that align with United’s values.

    LOCATION:  Reno, Nevada

    JOB TYPE:  Full-Time

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    •  Requires minimum 5 years background in Marketing & Communications experience. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

    • Understanding and implementation of marketing concepts, positioning, sales planning, competitive analysis, understanding the Customer, Customer relationships, creative services, closing skills, motivation for sales, prospecting skills, sales planning, selling to Customer needs, market knowledge, presentation skills, energy level, meeting sales goals and professionalism.
    • Organize, manage and maintain all marketing collateral material including photographs, resumes, biographies, references, letters of recommendation, etc.
    • Maintain and update marketing collateral materials and have ready-made materials and brochures on hand for last minute on-the-spot submittals and presentations.
    • Prepare private and public customer project Statements of Qualifications (SOQ’s) responses to Request for Qualifications, assist in proposal preparation for Request for Proposals.
    • Prepare company pre-qualification and qualifications statements as required.
    • Prepare, organize and maintain data and files for ease of access and inclusion in SOQ and Proposal information.
    • Work with the team to prepare, manage and maintain Project Birth Certificates and project data and statistics; gather and catalog existing Birth Certificates.
    • Prepare and maintain Project Profiles on all projects completed by the Company.
    • Prepare and distribute internal and external newsletters, e-blast, press releases and other communications.
    • Schedule and catalog completed project photography and imagery.
    • Work in conjunction with Business Development to develop, manage and maintain a CRM system for opportunity reporting/tracking, customer information & contacts, mailing (physical and electronic) lists.
    • Update and maintain the company website.
    • Develop and manage company’s social media program.
    • Present a professional and efficient image in all internal and external interactions.
    • Preparation and submission of all company or project award applications.
    • Develop advertising and other public relations initiatives as required.
    • Perform market research on regular and periodic time intervals as required or as requested by CEO and President, to support executives regarding determination of potential market areas, projects, customers, speaking engagements, presentations, etc. Evaluate data, market trends, forecast, etc.
    • Assist with determining customer needs through assessments, polls, customer interviews and/or satisfaction surveys.
    • Assist in interaction with customer, partners, architects, engineers and others to support pursuits and potential projects.
    • Provide strategic input and support in preparation of customer presentations and executive speaking engagements.
    • Organize, assist and support Company special events such as ground-breaking ceremonies, grand openings, open house, company outing/parties/events, conferences, etc.
    • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential. Exercise extreme caution and confidentiality as it relates to assigned projects, Company confidential information and HR sensitivities.
    • Continuous improvement of job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading trade publications, continuing education, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional or trade organizations, etc.
    • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for successfully providing support for existing, new and different requests; explore opportunities to enhance and add value to personal and Company accomplishments.
    • Special projects as assigned or may be required.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

    QUALIFICATIONS

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
    • Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management software.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Design Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
    • Ability to learn and effectively operate other types of software as required.

    OTHER SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Understanding of budgets and cost control
    • Knowledge of Marketing Concepts, Positioning, Sales Planning, Competitive Analysis, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Customer Relationships, Creative Services
    • Take charge and convey a confident competency through presentation skills, leadership example and ability to clearly communicate United Construction’s mission
    • Must exhibit exceptional people skills, flawlessly manage Customer expectations, must be good listeners and provide prompt responses to all requests

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret RFQ’s/RFP’s/SOQ’s, contracts, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
    • Ability to write routine and non-routine reports, correspondence, advertising copy and marketing materials, and to effectively speak with customers and employees of the Company.
    • The ability to write business letters, press releases, business proposals and presentations for new or existing customers shall also be required.
    • Ability to effectively present information to company executive management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
    • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as RFQ’s/RFP’s and Company Policies and Procedure Manual.

    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    • Ability to define problems, solutions and opportunities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Possess the ability to respond and communicate effectively with customers and members of the business community and apply common sense understanding to business unit requirements
