Medical Assistant
Northwest Ga Surgery Center is seeking a personable, professional and patient-focused medical assistant to serve as the first point of contact for our patients entering the facility. This capable individual will represent the face of the organization with primary responsibilities to greet and check-in patients, verify patient information and assist with scheduling and transport of patient safely throughout the surgical facility. Patient communication and interaction is the focus of this role; the ideal candidate will be concerned with rounding in the lobby to communicate delays, recover service issues, and offer comfort measures as needed to the patient and their families. They need to be extremely customer service-focused, exude compassion and empathy, as well as understand and follow the goals of the be KIND initiative, as established by our organization.
Required Skills
The candidate will be responsible for helping to schedule patients, and registering patient during check-in/check-out procedures. We prefer candidates with some experience in a medical office or in the healthcare field. The patient service representative is the first person a patient may see when they enter a medical office, therefore it is important that a patient services representative is professional in manner and appearance. They are required to have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency with computers and basic software applications (such as Microsoft Office products). The ideal candidate will be open to being cross-trained in the front-desk responsibilities to assist and relieve staff as needed. This position is also physically demanding and will require frequent moving throughout the surgery center as well as assisting patients throughout the center.
Required Experience
Must have hospital or ASC experience. Other clinical practice settings may be considered. EXPERIENCE LIMITED TO HOME HEALTH CARE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Must be a MA, PCT; WE WILL CONSIDER FIRST-YEAR NURSING STUDENTS!
Must have current BLS or CPR certification.
