    Job Summary:

    The HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST will coordinate many of the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including onboarding, administering payroll and benefits.  The Human Resources Generalist will use their working knowledge of best practices in Human Resources administration and understanding of Company policies and procedures to educate managers and team members.  

    • Administer and maintain employee time clock reports and work with department managers to approve reports, and input data into payroll software.
    • Responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll of appx. 315 employees while keeping Sr. Management informed of payroll and personnel changes.
    • Work closely with corporate Payroll, Benefits, Retirement, and Leave of Absence departments.
    • Support the HR Director in the maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records.
    • Ensure confidentiality of employee records and encourage employees to keep personnel information confidential.
    • Keep abreast of and ensure compliance with government rules and regulations concerning employees and personnel records.
    • Keep employees informed of Company rules and guidelines and be a steward of the Employee Handbook.
    • Coordinate the onboarding process for all newly hired employees by ensuring all pre-employment and onboarding steps are complete prior to date of hire.
    • Assist in conducting new employee orientation that informs new employees of policies and benefits and ensure that forms and records are properly completed.
    • Coordinate benefit open enrollment/qualifying event changes, distribution of benefit plan information, and assist in educating employees of their choices and completion of their online enrollment.
    • Monitor and audit PTO balances to ensure accurate accrual and changes, as needed, are properly maintained.
    • Conduct HR administrative functions such as employment verifications, reporting, filing, scanning, data entry and tracking of personnel data.

    Required Skills

    HR Generalist Requirements:

    • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience is required.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist, preferred.
    • 2 years’ experience in payroll and/or benefits coordination, preferred.
    • HR Certification is preferred, i.e. aPHR, PHR or SHRM-CP
    • Knowledge of Payroll, Wage & Hour Laws, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, employee benefits, 401k.
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Able to deal tactfully with all staff members with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Able to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously with ability to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn a variety of HRIS and talent management systems. Preferred experience with ADP (Enterprise), SilkRoad, Oracle, etc.
