    Job Description

     

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The purpose of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor position is to maximize the efficiencies of our electronics recycling operation through supervising technicians, inventory management and control, and equipment operations. Specific focus will be on meeting daily inbound and outbound throughput in a safe and consistent manner. Accurate documentation, adherence to standards of work and safety requirements are vital to this position.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Supervise personnel for all operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures, including coaching and counseling of personnel, as well as utilizing Progressive Discipline Policy as applicable.
    • Conduct employee performance evaluations.
    • Control the flow of materials; inbound and outbound.
    • Adjusting personnel to areas where needed.
    • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers, communicating with other shift supervisors to ensure smooth transition.
    • Operate within set Standard of Work (SOWs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
    • Operate inventory management system, to include receipts, locations of material and relieving inventory of processed material.
    • Conduct physical inventories throughout the year.
    • Mentor department leads and motivate personnel to safely meet or exceed production throughput goals.
    • Meet and address safety requirements for all facility personnel, to include authorization of equipment operation, and train/enforce EHS standards, to specifically include forklift training as well as forklift checklist reviews and overall warehouse safety.
    • Responsible for overall management of shift schedule, including workstation assignments/rotations, training, overtime, and coverage for employees on vacation or otherwise absent.
    • Keep track of trailers onsite and ensure adherence to all DOT regulations.
    • Complete daily production and safety reports as required.
    • Responsible for meeting quality requirements, verified through periodic quality control checks.
    • Back up for Operations Production Supervisor when needed, cross trained in all functions.
    • Other duties as required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
    • Ability to handle stressful situations, manage time, and multitask
    • Must meet minimum security requirements of an Access employee
    • Intermediate to Exceptional computer abilities strongly desired
    • Ability to speak, read, write English
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including delivering presentations
    • Experience with all Microsoft Office products
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, stand and walk for extended periods, climb ladders, and work overhead

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    No specific educational requirements. Three to five years’ supervisory experience responsible for direct supervision of 50 or more employees, preferably in manufacturing environment
