Job Description: We are in search of a knowledgeable and ambitious Used Car Manager to oversee the sourcing and acquisition of a diverse selection of pre-owned vehicles at competitive rates. The perfect candidate will possess a discerning eye for value, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep knowledge of the automotive industry. Responsibilities: • Lead a team in purchasing 35+ cars monthly with an average front-end price of $3,500+ per car. • Demonstrate strategic leadership by identifying, evaluating, and acquiring quality used vehicles that meet company standards and profitability targets. • Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and demand to guide purchasing decisions effectively. • Perform detailed inspections and appraisals for potential vehicle acquisitions. • Manage all aspects of the purchasing process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and proper documentation. • Develop and oversee budgets, forecast sales and expenses, and achieve financial objectives. Qualifications: • Proven track record in purchasing used vehicles or a similar role within the automotive industry. • Comprehensive experience in dealing with used cars, including desking, vehicle appraisals, wholesale transactions, and auction processes. • Familiarity with reconditioning needs, associated costs, and approval procedures for repairs. • Strong aptitude for accurately assessing the condition of vehicles. • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships. • Capable of working independently or collaboratively in a team to make well-informed purchasing decisions. • Knowledgeable about automotive sales and the dynamics of the used vehicle market. Compensation: $150,000 - $300,000
