    VCPB is a transportation 3rd party logistics firm that is strategically expanding and has been in business for over 20 years. VCPB handles, Drayage. Drayage Management “Restricted” Commodities" Domestic Intermodal Shipments Project Cargo/OverDimension or Heavyweight Ocean Container Diversions, Trans-loading of International containers. 3rd Party Warehousing, Shipper owned containers / trailers. LTL, Global logistics consultation & solutions.

    ABOUT THE POSITION:

    We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented self-starter to join our fast-growing intermodal team. As an Intermodal Operation Coordinator and a key decision making addition of a tight knit team; You will be responsible for developing productive relationships with customers and carriers. You will also be responsible for daily execution of the pickups and delivery of containers into all USA ports. And IMDL freight that includes all aspects of drayage pickup, rail linehaul and drayage delivery. This includes managing underlying carrier information and maintaining the accuracy of load information within our transportation management system (TMS). You will track and trace shipments, make appointments, and communicate to stakeholders, ensuring scheduling integrity. This position has a wide range of transportation related duties including operations,pricing and quoting new business.

    Daily Tasks & Responsibilities outline (to include, but may not be limited to):

    • Facilitate and maintain regular communication cadence with drayage partners to best understand network optimization. This may include in person or phone meetings.
    • Facilitate Network Matching to procure one-way dray rates in both RFQ and daily booking activity.
    • Assist in Market Rate development and updates by providing feedback from drayage partners.
    • Create growth strategies with core drayage partners.
    • Maintain relationships with drayage dispatch contacts and customer service reps at railroads and ocean carriers.
    • Responsible for daily load management and advanced sheduling, to ensure that loads are serviced properly and on time.
    • Assign drayage coverage to inbound/outbound loads to include extreme flexibilitiy, when required..
    • Rail billing of loads with correct pricing and routing information.
    • Update and resolve incidents, routinely.
    • Utilize intermodal and ocean carrier tracking tools to ensure loads are tracked and updated in timely manner.
    • Proactively identify potential issues and create appropriate solutions; escalate as needed.
    • Manage accessorials objectively while maximizing profit.
    • Ensure receipts, invoices, and PODs are received from carriers in a timely manner.
    • Prioritize and respond to both internal and external requests in a timely, effective, and professional manner.
    • Maintain an up to date understanding of market trends, conditions and industry standards / projections.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
    • 3 years’ experience with Intermodal/Drayage modes of transportation in transportation operations (truckload or intermodal) preferred
    • Proficiency with transportation management systems
