Job Description
The VDC Technician will perform VDC functions for the team on all projects, as well as assist the VDC Project Coordinator with coordinating with clients and sub-consultants on VDC standards. This person will work closely with CRB project discipline leads and the VDC Regional Manager on internal VDC standardization. Projects will consist of both existing building renovations and new construction. Project sizes will vary and require documentation for various disciplines including but not limited to Architecture, Electrical, Fire Protection, HVAC, Piping (Mechanical, Process, Plumbing) and Structural. This person should also have a passion for VDC innovations and emerging technologies in the AEC industry.
How will I contribute?
You will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. Project sizes will vary, and will consist primarily of pharmaceutical, biotech, food and beverage, or industrial process projects including both existing building renovations/retrofits and new construction.
Responsibilities
Assist and support VDC Coordinators with VDC functions for the team on all projects
Assist and support VDC Coordinators with monitoring and auditing project VDC standard compliance
Assist the VDC P&ID Administrator and project teams to prepare, execute, and finalize project deliverables (P&ID drawings, specifications, lists, BOMs, etc.)
Assist the VDC P&ID Administrator with maintaining a healthy P&ID infrastructure (i.e. P&ID SQL database, supporting project files)
Assist all disciplines with drawing edits / redlines
Visiting project sites to record existing conditions with VDC technologies and tools
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in Computer Aided Design, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, completion of Construction Management Certificate Program, or equivalent
0-2 years of experience in an EPC firm setting or construction industry equivalency
Additional Qualifications
Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other design authoring platforms is preferred
Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D is preferred
Knowledge of industry standard VDC documentation (BEP, BIMForum, etc.) is preferred
Demonstrates good organizational and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
