You will be working with The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to help protect the Nation’s transportation system to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce. Specifically, you will be supporting TSA Office of Information Technology (OIT) to modernize and optimize a portfolio of applications to ensure the security, integrity, and productivity of TSA and its employees through IT capabilities.

YOUR IMPACT TO THE MISSION: VMD has an exciting opportunity for you to join as a CLOUD SYSTEM ARCHITECT. Our customer needs the capability to modernize and transform a variety of mission support systems and develop custom software solutions. This project requires a full range of system and application design, agile software development, and application production support services. To achieve integration and customization of mission support systems and applications, this project will consist of several Agile teams to support the design, development, testing, and adaptive maintenance activities using the Agile methodology.

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Provide technical direction and leadership for several Agile development teams, specifically around Cloud Migration and Optimization.
• Lead the overall strategy and approach for the migration of a portfolio of systems to the cloud.
• Provide technical leadership for the architectural updates required to successfully migrate individual systems to the cloud.
• Identify, document, and communicate technical risks associated with each cloud migration initiative.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• 5+ years of hands‐on experience the leading cloud platform (Azure, Amazon, Salesforce, Google) development and migration for at least two service models such as IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS.
• Architecture experience migrating enterprise applications to one or more than one major cloud platform.
• Architecture experience migrating enterprise applications using at least two or all service models of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• 10 or more years’ experience with modern programming languages, web frameworks, modern front‐end web programming techniques and frameworks, relational databases, automated configuration management, continuous integration/deployment, and continuous monitoring solutions
• Background in performing best-practice maintenance and security techniques for mission critical cloud-enabled production systems.
• Capability to navigate complex, political environments.
• Comfortable with defining requirements given ambiguous direction.
• Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communications.
• Strong leadership abilities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must possess deep and wide software development technical skillset with strong understanding of software development in a cloud environment, Continuous Integration/Deployment, and automated testing.

• Desired Certification(s): ANY ADDITIONAL CLOUD CERTIFICATIONS (AZURE, AWS, GOOGLE, ETC.), AGILE CERTIFICATIONS (CSM, SAFE, ETC.), SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATIONS (JAVA, MICROSOFT, ETC.), SALESFORCE CERTIFICATION
• Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 10
• Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 10
• Minimum Clearance to Start: INTERIM PUBLIC TRUST
• Work Status Allowable: US CITIZENSHIP
